Oh wow, this is my Itch.io Profile! I love this little treasure. I rewrote this awhile ago (~3 years ago as of now) around when I was beginning my career in higher education. Teaching then at Holberton Tulsa and now its better namesake Atlas School has been a blessing.
I make games, XR experiences, and more software professionally now. I am starting to self-publish through my own website (https://kosmaco.com) and excited about the near future.
That said, I still do game jams. I still have indie roots. So, I wanted to leave this little note I wrote some years ago preserved for myself to look up again later and judge myself for the horridly buggy things I would post online.
Cheers!

Hello and welcome to my Itch.io profile!
I'm Zachary Kosma, a dedicated technologist with a comprehensive background in Unity development, Software Architecture, and Game Design.
My passion is the seamless blend of education and technology, particularly within the Gaming and Immersive Technology (AR/VR) sectors. Currently, I'm utilizing this passion as an Education Facilitator at Holberton Tulsa, guiding the next generation of innovators in the immersive tech industry.
My journey began as a Unity developer, crafting games designed not just for entertainment but also to provide an inclusive platform for all players, especially those with disabilities. Today, I use this same philosophy to mentor aspiring developers and designers, striving to foster a future in gaming that's both accessible and universally engaging.
Through my professional journey, I've honed my skills across a diverse range of roles, including XR contracting, developer relations, technical business development, and software education. These experiences have shaped my approach towards game design and development, broadening my understanding of not just creating games, but also the business and operational elements of the gaming industry.
My game design philosophy is encapsulated in an article series called "Games Are Choices." Here, I propose that games are systems that are made up of a player's series of choices and the system's output or experience. By evaluating these two parts, I believe we can compare the quality and value of games, even those from different genres. Stay tuned on my website for more information: www.zak.today
